I finished piecing the top today. I am now ready to layer and quilt it.

I've completed the photo blocks - I have this preliminary placement for them. Please let me know if you'd like any changes. I suggest leaving the two in the third row down the same as they both have horizontal placement - I tried to have the ones facing into the quilt instead of having a face toward the border of the quilt.

Here is the first block. The other red/white fabric will then go around this as the sashing - but I put that on once all the blocks are built. Not all the photos are exactly 3.5" x 5" so those that are a bit smaller will have a bit more white around them - I think this will look fine. This block measures 8" x 8".

I modified the concept to the following. All photos are tall except two of them. So I will put the embroidery in the middle piece, and the two photos that are wide on both sides. Then I will use the white around the photos, then the red/white check, then the red/white flower as the border - then the border and binding. This way I am using all of the fabrics you sent me. I don't have these fabrics in my computer program, so I can't show you exactly what it will look like, but this is close enough!

Here is the concept we have been discussing. This measures 40" x 60".
